  • What kind of surgery did Julie have?

  • @maxwell029 This video is from 2008. Julie had an aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC). It is a rare tumor that eats bone, but it is not cancer. Julie had the largest in her spine that our surgeons had ever seen. Without modern surgery, her spine would have collapsed, and she would have been paralyzed. They removed the ABC in 2008, but we had a reoccurrence last summer (2010). She underwent the surgery all over again. She is doing well now, and we are praying that it will not reoccur again.

  • Today is the 6-month anniversary of her surgery. She is doing well. It will take the bone graft and bones about a full year to harden and heal. And so, her activities are still restricted, but she can do a little more beginning today (doctor's orders). She is back in school.
