My Hi-Fi system £3500!!!! stupid money to fork out for a system I agree but as you can hear yourself it sounds very realistic and stunning.

  • What speaker stands are you using and what sorta filling, if any?

  • Atacama Nexus 6i with gel pads. Inside I filled with Atacama steel chips. The PMC TB2 speakers+ inc stands are for sale £600 and so is the Roksan K2 amp £600. I have moved house so haven't got space to put them anywhere.

  • By all means keep throwing away ridiculous amounts of money on cables while they make such a tiny difference in the sound. You should have improved your room acoustics instead...

  • I see you point but as I dont own the home i dont want to go down that road. FYI the Chord interconnects are the best £250 I have ever spent. I put £2500 DAC n cd on the system but still did not get the improvement from what I got from the chord.

  • If i dint have a similar setup then you have, you may have told me I wasted my money on them as well, but if I go buy what you suggested youve wasted you r money on Qed's and Dali's.

  • Fantastic, I've got the same setup except with Dali floorstanders and QED cabling, also some power conditioners and whatnot. My room is too small for them though, but I'm moving soon to a bigger house. Good room acoustics too man. If you've got some time, go and audition Gamut bookshelfs!

  • use chord signature interconnects on your system, it improves sound so greatly its better then buying new kit. ebay £250

  • Not a stupid amount of money at all... This system will last forever. It's worth every penny :) You did well. PMC speakers are designed beautifuly, and teh Cyrus cd player with k2 amp... Well... I migth of gone with a cyrus 8vs2 amp my self but still.. Fantastic system you have.

  • I have the PMC DB1+ with an Electrocompaniet ECI-2 and for the moment a Panasonic DMB-BD80 as CD-player. It has also a good quality sound like yours.

  • song?

  • Its all about priorities, in the UK I bet most people spend that much on alcohol and going out. Difference is you still have 3000 pounds worth of equipment that'll give you more pleasure in the long term.

  • that is a nice setup wouldnt ever pay £3500. Ive paid a fraction of that. For that i have some the best vintage gear. B&W DM580 floorstanders, NAD 2200's monoblocks (upgraded) NAD 5200 cd deck. List goes on. Not miles better sounding but its the control and the sheer scale and the ability to send your mind into spasm

  • what a shit set up

  • Its not a waste of money. Cheaper systems tend to make the vocals sound un-natural. High price systems tend to sound like the vocals are real or at least close to real...

  • tell you something funny, his speaker cable, mains and interconnect cost more than the amp and cd player. Crazy I know and I told him I would spen $1000 on my system but when I herd the track in person man!!!!.

Anyway Im gonna soon post my Dali Helicon 300mk2, Cyrus DAC Xp with CDseXT CD player and two Roksan mono's. CAble is same but Interconnects are going to be Chord indigo. Sick

  • Nice system....fix the rug.

  • i dunno mate, sounds the same as my laptop :P
