I think that this could be one of the best Gilmour's masterpiece at his guitar... He played this solo in 1984 at the Hammersmith Odeon. Special guest NICK MASON on drum.

@44fordman Don't know if there are recordings out there of his last show on this tour @ the Pier in NYC, but it would be worth looking for. By the end of this tour the Numb solos were colossal. This Hammersmith solo (while fantastic) is like a training exercise in comparison.

i love the comfortably numb solo but i just don't like this preformance as much as the other live ones I've seen. I like when guitarists improvise but i think his timing was off a little and it was way to far from the actual solo from the original album the wall. But still it was a good solo and David Gilmour is one of the greatest guitarist ever.

Good performance, but I think tainted by the 80s insincere rock vocal stylings of the backing band.
