I modified my Hague MMC with a ball transfer unit gimal from the original ball socket gimal which was weak and popped out easily. The new gimbal works fine but is wasn't stable as my DIY steadicam. I guess size and weight does matter. Also it was hell trying to balance the Hague. Shooting becomes hard when the wind is blowing.

  • Maybe you could show us how you modified the gimball and with which component. Would be nice to be able to buy this as it performs better than the original Hague MMC stabiliser.

  • @Aafiah23 I used a ball transfer unit, which you need getting used to when using as a gimbal. But I found that it works better than a universal joint. This it the type that I used to make my gimbal.

  • nicely designed steadycam

  • @weaponeer Thank you.

  • @weaponeer Thank you.

  • Wow I also have the MMC but yours looks more steadi, did you stabilized the footage on your software during the edit ?

  • @MaKsPuA No, I didn't use any software to stabilize the video. I also had the on-camera stabilizer off, which is better. I do like my gimbal better than the original ball socket handle which had a lot of fiction and didn't give a smooth panning.

  • Hi again, I got the Hague unit today and I see what you mean about the ball joint you need to be careful not to over angle it. It takes a while to adjust but once I got the hang of it I was impressed at the potential. I'll have to practise with my DSLR then put up some footage to see how it comes out... and also research some modifications like you have it would be good to get a more sturdy gimbal long term.

  • Fantastic!!!

  • @pskim731 i just thought you didn't drink when shooting videos like I do... ;)
