Sammy Davis performs his big world-wide smash hit recording of "The Candyman" in this 1972 clip. The song was written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley and featured in the film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" the previous year, 1971. A great memory....

I'm sorry but there was no VH-1 in 1975. There were no cable then either.

On reading some of the posts it appears that there is some confusion about who was considered "The Rat Pack". Look at Wiki and it gives the full history but the following were the traditional list: Frank Sinatra, Chairman; Dean Martin, Sammy Davis JR., Joey Bishop, subbed for Johnny Carson the most, then Peter Lawford, married a Kennedy. Look up "The Brat Pack" of the 80's, Molly Ringwald, et. al.

Number one was poor management. Number two, they had their highs in the day also. On Dateline or some such program I heard that 78% of retired NFL players are broke three years later.
