If you aren't holding marketers to a higher standard, then you get what you deserve. Don't let people push your buttons without your permission, and that latest launch trick? Same thing.

There is no blueprint.

  • Like it Nathan. The idea behind thinktanmen is the same, take personal responsibility for your life - if you don't like it then YOU have to change it, and that takes balls. A man has to decide.

    cheers

  • @thinktankmen exactly right. You can't expect someone else to do the hard work for you.

  • Very interesting Nathan, more and more thinking a similar way about selling simply and getting less sales for it, but more "honest" sales. There is no denying that sales pages with those push button tactics work much more effectively though and so it's a tough one to give up.

  • @joelwills yeah, they do work, and it's hard not to use them, but at some point we have to look at the other metrics. Sales are important, but what about loyalty and consumer sentiment after the sale?

  • Yes, I know, forgot the music. Better luck next time.

  • Nice to know I'm not alone in seeing it as 'kinda gross', and that most people don't want to hear it's about meat and potatoes. It's much more exciting to believe in what sounds too good to be true; living IN the dream. I'm over the idea of trying to save people from themselves too, indeed it's almost impossible when sexy, big promises have them captivated. I've teetered on 'if you can't beat 'em join 'em' but it made me sick. If it means less sales so be it.

I talk with my hands too. ;)
