This is a great way to lower your calorie intake with summer on the way. The whole burger is around 250 calories! Try it out.

Thanks to Lisa and our friends at Hungry Girl. This is from their new cookbook 1-2-3 which has lots of good ones like this. Check it out or get more from her online.

Here's Lisa's Recipe
1/2 fat-free mayonnaise
2 t wasabi or less for milder sauce
1 lb fresh raw ahi/yellowfin tuna, finely chopped
1 extra large egg separated, or 3 T liquid egg whites
3 scallions chopped
1 1/2 T reduced-sodium/lite soy sauce
2 t ground ginger (or I use fresh finely chopped)
1 t dijon mustard
dash black pepper
4 small hamburger buns, 80 calories each
1 small cucumber, thinly sliced.

Combine mayonnaise and wasabi in small bowl.
in a medium bowl combine tuna, egg white, scallions, soy sauce, ginger, mustard and pepper. Mix well. Using your hands, shape mixture into 4 patties, each about 4 inches wide.

Fry in small pan over medium heat for 2 minutes each side.

Place each patty on a bun with a little of the wasabi sauce. Top with sliced cucumber.

  • Most people used breadcrumbs when making tuna burgers.

  • Will you please get a new cutting board? You can get cheap plastic ones at restaurant supply stores that will be sooo much better than that flexible one
