Maggie Ervin is a remarkable woman. She decided to donate one of her kidneys to help a complete stranger, simply because she thought it was the right thing to do. Maggie's gift did more than help save the live of one person, it started a chain reaction that helped at least three people get a new kidney and a second chance at life. Maggie's kidney went to a patient who had someone who had wanted to donate a kidney but wasn't a match, so when their loved one got a kidney their donor agreed to have their kidney go to someone else. That patient also had someone who wanted to donate but wasn't a match and so when their loved one was transplanted, they donated their kidney to a third person. An amazing chain reaction of love and life. And it all began with Maggie.

  • @Paracuarogto1 Dear F, I hope you're well. Your note here and your sister's letter were very sweet. I wish you the best always, in health and in everything. And I hold your family and your friend G in my heart. Take care, M.E.

  • Maggie! Thank God for people like you! You are a hero to me.. You see, last July 28th I was given a 2nd chance at life because of the courageous generosity of an altruistic donor like your self. His name is Jay and he is from Colorado Springs. Because of his unconditional gift... I live!!! and so does my brother! Check out the story at Another2ndChance Org

    God Bless!

  • Maggie is an amazing person!

I am the person she mentioned about in this video. She had heard me on "This American Life."

If anyone is considering kidney donation, you can contact me as well. Being a kidney donor myself, I can also give you all the info you need. I also have a website that has more info.

I am in touch with many people who have donated a kidney - all of us are doing great, no one has regrets and some of us wish we can do it again!
