Several groups, including pilots and passengers, say that new invasive security procedures at airports violate a person's rights. Maggie Rodriguez talks to travel editor Peter Greenberg about the controversy and possible boycott over the busy holidays.

  • It's not that big of a deal. It's a human body. Save your battles for something that means more. Just because I don't give a shit if someone "sees me naked" for the safety of myself and others doesn't make me a "sheep." Also, now that I see this video, it does NOT take 3-4 minutes to get cleared. Not even close.

Besides, I would LOVE for them to store, print and distribute my body scanner image, make it public and embarrass me. Do you know how much money I'll get in the court case!?

  • I refused the body scanner in LAX, waited 15 minutes for someone to legally sexually assault me, and then I got put on a watch list. Oh and the other people, walking through the scanner looked at me like I was some sort of criminal. Ignorance is bliss isn't it?

  • @tich302001 So what you are saying is just accept everything, you might just as well roll over and die. The scanner is not something we are doing, it is being done to us. No one asked for cancer body scanners at airports.

  • @Sood81 Everything we do in life is full of risks they warn us of cancer if we stay out in the sun too long there's a risk of cancer if we eat too much red meat or smoke too much. Life is full of risks you just have to live with it.

  • @tich302001 You probably wouldn't say the same thing if you get cancer because you rather walked through the scanner than let someone frisk you, but hey good luck avoiding cancer.

  • @anastasia2657 lol I know, I was just saying it is hard to avoid the scanners for a lot of reasons, for me it's because of family for others it could be other reasons. It's governments who are letting this all happen and people are too stupid to do anything, only complain, that's what is called democracy. And the worst thing is some don't even complain.

  • I would not feel the need to state the self-evident if I did not see the problem, but that scanner is a videofloroscopy, which is a moving x-ray, and is like having 1,000 x-rays everytime you go through it, so in time the people will not be healthy enough to visit their families anyway.
