Yes i know there is anime of course there is that too but like 70% of the shows on tv are about food and gameshow. I too can come back to my country and bring a variety of other shows, it's not that hard. I think you have missed the point I was trying to get at. I think you really need to live in Japan and actually watch Japanese TV in order to understand what I am talking about.

@monolocco My spouse has spent a lot more time in Japan than I have, and he has come back armed with a lot of good anime like "Spice & Wolf", "Eden of the East" and "Durarara!". I have no idea how anime producers interface with audiences in Japan, but as far as I know, there's more than gameshows and food programs available for people to watch. The JFriends website is a great place to start for awesome Japanese programming; you just pick what interests you.

this is the kind of stupid shows they have here in Japan. This and food shows and nothing else. This is why I don't watch Tv in Japan its just as bad as Australian TV.
