The Diversity Internship program at The Nature Conservancy increases diversity within the Conservancy while helping increase capacity in the field. The program matches academically outstanding university students with field programs and mentors. Diversity is a business decision. I find it interesting that TNC is only going through this process now. I worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. We went throught this about 20 years ago.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking that race, gender or nationality is the only measure of diversity. If you just get people who all think the same then nothing changes. The workforce looks different but remains the same. The challenge is to include people whose personallity is different.
