And they keep bringing out new formats, connectors, firmwares, satelites etc every day. They want tv ownership to be like Mobile phone, ipod ownership so that after 5years you have to upgrade. i think one day we might need analog equipment. Here in the Uk they want to do the same thing with radio too and get rid of FM. Before you know it we wont even have our own independent net services, it will be one big wireless/sat state service.
Theyve done this in the UK too. I personlly dont agree with it, dont get me wrong, digital is good in many ways but it means we are completely reliant on monopolised channels. If say a war broke out, it would be allot easier to get rid of all tv channels with digital. If a certain channel was not deemed to be putting out information that was good it could be blocked easier. Digital video connections like HDMI can block content that doesnt meet a certain standard.
ha ha sony model FD-20A!! i have one also they are awesome i had baught it to use as a monitor for my server so i wouldnt have to have a monitor being i only had to view what it was doing once in a blue moon
How did the guy know that the people watching would only be viewing on an analog set.
I had, well still have, a portable tv. I got it for Christmas in 2000 but I never really used it that much until I got a battery recharger in '06. The only consolation for me is that i live very close to Canada so I still can get CBC and a few other channels.
me to i have a 5.5 inch b&w TV that i use every day i love to watch my favorite shows on that tv i live in Canada as well Winnipeg to be exact hopefully they will postpones it like in the us
Low-power LPTV stations have no mandatory cutoff date for analog, and so-called "nightlight" stations are allowed to continue running DTV infomercials, like the one you showed, until July 12th. Otherwise, analog broadcast TV as we knew it ended June 12th. :-(

Or 4) build your own pirate TV transmitter and watch your OWN station.
No, the TV will not stop working, it is still useful as a video monitor or for testing your transmitter ;)
