What They Gave To Me

My Father served in the Navy.
My Grandfather served in the Army.
I Would have proudly served myself but I was born blind in both eyes.
I gained sight in my right eye at the age of two.
While working a midnight shift job in Pennsylvania in 1990, my foreman walked in with a POW/MIA t-shirt on. I was 20 years old at the time and the profile on the shirt looked like me at that age. At that time I had friends who were serving in Operation Desert Storm. I was overwhelmed by the sacrifice so many have given for my freedom. At that moment, I started writing this song.
It took 6 years to finish. This song is my way of saying Thank You to all who have served for my Freedom. May God Bless You All!
