nice runner. how did you get the tube to stay on the exhaust hole on the engine? did you glue it? im just wondering because im interested in doing that to mine.

I used a tube with an ID equal to (or slightly larger than) the ID of the exhaust port on the engine, so as not to restrict the flow. I took the engine apart and carefully drilled out the exhaust port to the outside diameter of the tubing to a depth of about half way through the steam chest. I soldered the pipe into the port, just so it would stay put and not leak.

Superglue might work too, if it's already a tight fit. The pipe fits into the chimney loosely, since I did not feel the need to solder it. Excess water can also leak out of the hole rather than burbling and spitting out the top. It's not hard to do. Just don't use too big of a pipe, or you will run into the other steam passages in the steam chest (been there and done it).
