I live in San Diego where we always have tons of Naval aircraft carriers in the bay. Last week I was in my backyard at around 1 in the morning, really bright with moonlight, partial cloud coverage from a recent storm that had just ended, and I looked up and saw a single jet, way WAY up in the sky. I watched it fly quietly off into the distance, just a red blinking light and silent trail of exhaust left in it's wake.

Couldn't help but think of this song =)

GULD NOOOOOO ... this... this sound, this mentality, dedicated to our future space travelers.... .. this song is beyond this movie.... ive played it and people have just burst into tears.... the translations even more beautiful. so world, are we ready to fly? because i would do anything to make the the singer smile and share the joy that such song brings in between the bomb blasts.

I remember my brother watching this movie when I was a kid.

I had this song in my head ever since. I had no idea it was from an anime, I would sing it randomly or hmm it while I was falling asleep.
