i think, and i do a little bjj, that you can improve in x-guard butterflyguard, but it´s not the basic, the basic is closed guard, half guard.. i´m a yellow in judo in blue in bjj, nothing coo, i´m not strong but my butterfly guard sucks, garcia is build like and orang uta, big legs, massive body, it´s like eddie rubber bravo, you can try but jiu jitsu has to be individual!!

Very true. You really don't need anything beyond the basics. For whatever reason, many martial artists mistakenly think you need to know many techniques. This is untrue. You just need to get really good at the basics. In boxing, there are only 6 basic punches - jab, straight rear hand, left hook, right hook, right uppercut, and left uppercut. But what separates a great boxer from a average one are physical attributes, mastery of footwork, sense of distancing and timing, and strategy.
