It's true that Hollywood has more money and can do more for Special Effects, but if Indian cinema doesn't have the money, they shouldn't attempt things that are "half-baked". That being said, the special effects weren't particularly horrible in this movie...I have more of a complaint with Asin's overacting (which I've usually linked to Bollywood and not Tamil actresses...guess it's drifting over) and the eccentric storyline. This beginning scene though is incredible.

I am a hardcore kamal fan, and always my expectations are endles. Kudos to him. But really, not the best, kamal could do 1000 times better

TRUE.. DASAVATHARAM's spl effects comes no where near Hollywood's SPL EFFECTS... but u got to realise that Hollywood has more money.. The spl effects budget alone will probably be more than the entire budget of DASAVATHARAM..
so naturally Hollywood movies have GR8 SPL EFFECTS... DASAVATHRAMA spl effects is good by Indian standards..!!!

thats your opinion and your defo entitled to one.. but its still running well in box offices so it cant be all that bad, like all kamal hassan movies the more you watch this movie the better it gets cause everytime you get a bit more from the movei
