This song was a hit when my brother and myself were teenagers...my brother,Daniel, died when he was 29...whenever I hear this song the tears flow...thank you Elton John...for the memories...you have touched more people then you realize....I love and miss you Daniel W. @frostgiantsdaughter thank you for your kind thoughts,would just like to see him from a distance out of curiosity.Have the most wonderfull daughter we are like sisters,as in those days you had your kids young you did everything young,got married myself & had my daughter late 72,then my 2 wonderfull sons,I have been blessed.My brother

is the one who needs some prayers,have helped where I can but not that easy.

@frostgiantsdaughter Yes sad but you don't miss what you never really had,I do not miss him I dislike him,just the past caught up with me, when kids left home(empty nest ) perhaps,my parents met & got married during war am not that young was born in 1950,it pleases me I never became like my her,both broke the cycle of violence,that for so long was part of our lives.As said I miss those special days my children are lucky to have.Am blessed 3 lovely kids .& 5 grandkids I adore

@alchiby You are right, the pain never does leave. You just learn to not let yourself think about it too much, but now and then it will sneak up on you and it's like it just happened all over again.

@alchiby Wow, that is so sad! My heart goes out to you. It's just a lousy world that we live in that people more commonly pck the wrong partners to have kids with, then don't stay together and the one who raises them aren't sure of what they want and the kids pay for it. The best thing to do is to grow and elevate away from these terrible experiences and live better. God bless you...:)

memories ,but they are there to remind us to never forget those who are special.I can

maybe say I am lucky as I don't have much to loose my mother passed on 7yrs ago

she gave my brother & me an awfull childhood,my father is out there somewhere

never seen or met him,my brother too young to remember. I do miss saying happy birthday,happy fathers day just asking for advice & some fatherly love know won't happen

this song reminds me of my mum who died in july 2010. It was on a mixed tape in her car that she'd play going to my grannys house far away. We used to hate it at the time but now it makes me cry because i miss her so much
