The perfect racing line

A demonstration of the best way to check upon your racing line in circuit racing [the helicopter view]. This of course can only be done in racing simulators, but improving your line there will also have an impact on your actual driving!

This is a lap in Imola GP 2004 circuit with a Ferrari Modena 360 GTC on GTR 2, using the NAP mod 1.4 version. You can see how the car makes use of all the track. Pay attention to the way it steps on the edges of the race track on the corner entry, the apex and the corner exit. For reference, the complete laptime was 1:51.814s.

Remember, sometimes it's more important where your car will pass from than how fast it will pass through.

the only thing i gotta say... and this is not a negative comment. but do not force your racing line. it looked like you would actually steer out to the exit to make it run the line. but its just a video game so dont take what these people are bad mouthing you about. have fun with racing no matter how you do it.

@paulwildridge Well, this is actually the racing line I used and when I checked it on helicopter view, I found very interesting the way the car creates arcs through the corners. So I thought I should make this video for complete novices to racing.

Tosa is followed immediately by an uphill straight going up to 280-290kmph...

@ms0651 Well, the "absolutely best" line is something subjective I guess. For me, that is the best line for this particular car. Of course, I could be wrong...! ;)

I didn´ t even look at the description,it´s just that this track has been coded in my brain long time ago from looking at F1 racing on TV and playing lots and lots of racing games with Imola track in them!So I could pretty much drive this track with my eyes closed...on video game only of course lol.Oh and btw nice drivin´dude!
