This is a recording of myself 7 days after orthopaedic surgery on my right knee. I would have liked to see a video to compare my recovery to, so I thought I'd put this up for others. My knee is still painful in video and only slightly swollen. After doing the video my knee was very uncomfortable and needed more rest.

  • i can't believe u could walk a week after your surgery... i had this surgery on my left knee 6 months ago, and i've been on crutches for a month... it still hurt today, i can't walk too much nor run... :S

  • Thats very unfortunate. What did they do during your surgery? Yours may have been more invasive so your recovery time was/is longer. Everyone seems to be different.

It could have something to do with age too. Feel free to talk. Dede

  • Thanks for doing this video. I had Arthroscopic knee surgery yesterday on my left knee for a torn meniscus. I know everyone is different, but I was looking for information on how long it will take before I can walk. I appreciate your posting this!

  • thats was my thoughts after my surgery.

I am really glad it helped,

even if it was just one person! :)

  • @Hagencito87 No i didn't actually, just the piece of my ACL that was trapped in the bones

  • @Hagencito87 good, 10 days later and im on the bike riding, not hard riding but sustained pace riding

  • @ddpaintballer How did it go?

  • @theaterqueen95 DId you have your plica removed as well?

  • @ddpaintballer Hi , i got the same surgery 2 weeks ago, what do you exactly feel? keep in touch

  • its now 5 days after my surgery and i had PT yesterday and my knee feels like a bigg bruise, is that usually what happends?

  • @ddpaintballer I had the cortisone in september and the surgery 2 weeks and 2 days ago, turned out that the synovium (which is a little sac of fluid) on the back of my ACL was trapped between my patella and tibia bones so my dr had to remove that and a small portion of my ACL. Now I'm about to start PT, hope it gets better soon!

  • @theaterqueen95 yeah, i got the surgery last friday

  • @ddpaintballer Not trying to be a downer, but unfortunately you probably shouldn't count on it working :(. I was having knee problems for a year and a half before I got a cortisone shot and it didn't do anything, it's more of a cover your a** for the doctor so that they can say they tried absolutely everything before surgery. Just thought I would warn ya :)
