im Native and I personally don't get it why some of us feel offended by it ... I live on the rez and PLENTY Natives say Indian just because they do and it's not like saying the n word or anything but I have been told that some Natives don't like it because they don't want to be mistaken by India Indians.

When we found Columbis, cause his dumb arse was lost. He thought he landed in India. But now that the India Indians are the real Indians, government had to give us a name. Hence forth Native Americans. And no, we do not live in Tee-Pees.
