The historical human and civil rights violations that still exist now in a growing run-amok U.S. Catastrophe, broke my Mom the same way the broken system is breaking so many other parents and families of Autistic children in this Country due to lack of Autism education, supports, and services.

On July 12, 1994, my Mom committed suicide on my father's front lawn. She is a casualty of Society's lack of acceptance and the right to exist of people with Autism, and the respect and supports due our families.

Every American and the parents of children with Autism everywhere need to prepare for the possibility this will be your child's FUTURE if Autism in the U.S. does not CHANGE. The day my Mom died, July 13, 1994, I was thrown on California streets as an adult with Autism - and $64 to my name and nowhere to turn for help, assistance, Autism supports, and services.

My Mom was my biggest supporter - she told me I could dream of achieving anything if I wanted it enough to Believe. She told me not to let anyone use my Autism to hold me back. Since she died, the only other person who ever told me to Believe, my best friend in my life other than her, was my Autism doctor, brain neurologist.

Both of them believed Autism is a gift and that people with Autism can achieve anything we want deep in our heart - they Believed because they believed in a brighter future where Autistic talents and abilities will be valued and appreciated - just like everyone else. Overcoming others on negative thoughts, with a focus on the Positive.

I hope no one else with Autism and their families suffer the tragedies of Autism in the U.S. that befell my entire family. We don't deserve it.

Ms. Day-Petrano (pen-name EquiisSavant), was informed by her late Mother she was diagnosed with Childhood Kanner autism as the reason why she was adjudicated at age 14 for her developmental disability entitlement under NY law to adult child support. Subsequently, Ms. Day-Petrano was diagnosed with Autism and Savant Syndromes by Michael W. Hoffmann, M.D.
