A new plan out of the United States Senate is raising hopes the country can avert the potential disaster of running out of money to pay its bills -- credit default. President Barack Obama, with the Democrats and Republicans, is looking at the plan today.

Obama said: "We don't have any more time to engage in symbolic gestures, we don't have any more time to posture. It's time to get down to the business of actually solving this problem and I think we now are seeing the potential for a bipartisan consensus around what that would take."

  • @Mr40acresandamule You got that right. If only the rich would accept the tax-hikes and pay 30% instead of 17%. We actually wouldn't be in this situation right now.

  • What is the complaint? The Tea Party Conservatives and Republicans got the upper hand. The U.S. will enter into age of deep austerity. The United States will become like France and Great Britain with high unemployment of around 10-15 percent. Low taxes and deep spending cuts don't grow an economy.

  • We should ONLY be negotiating and trading what to cut:

Democrats want more family & job destroying welfare and federal regulations. Republicans want more military. Republicans will trade, making the US less safe by ordering 100 fewer military jets if Democrats agree to reduce dependence on family destroying welfare programs.

Republicans should be arguing for things that make Americans safer, while Democrats agitate for wealth redistribution and resulting social & economic destruction,..

  • @screwopenborders You tell him, lol

  • @RamenReturns So says the ignorant degenerate that is bitching since the republicans are butt-fucking the working class, seniors, poor people a new one.

  • @ConservateEliberat0r Glad to hear you want to put adults back in charge! Good call. You can just sit here and bitch, we'll take care of the grown-up stuff. Good luck with the blog!

  • Nice "Go Reagan" ad at the beginning, ah the power of editing. Reagan was great at saying one thing and doing another (acting school), you may have forgot about trickle-down economics, the single worse (unless you are a multi-millionaire) economic policy our country has seen and it defined Reagan. He cut the marginal tax rate on the highest-income tax bracket from 70% to 28%, while poverty nearly doubled.
