Quoting from the newspaper article, regarding the travel that wasnt:
Brooks McElveen grabbed a loose ball as he was falling out of bounds and called for the timeout that set up Pritchards last-second heroics. "I was thinking, Dont let the ball go out of bounds," McElveen said. "And I was hoping that I wouldnt be called for traveling."

Quoting from the newspaper article, regarding the technical that wasnt:
After (Carter) Pritchard's shot, the crowd rushed the court, even though there were 1.5 seconds remaining. The crowd had to be cleared as the officials huddled to figure things out. "I just didnt want to get a technical," McMillan said (Mountain Brook coach Bucky McMillan).
