  • @barmybrummy1988 Not funny. Those are people dying down there. And no, they don't respawn. And strafing ground forces isn't "n00by." There's no such thing as "n00by" in war. If there are planes down there you're not just going to let them take off to avoid being a "n00b." Please, if you are going to make comments about an unrealistic video game on real war footage, then just fuck off.

  • Well said last poster. Problem is these brainless little pricks can't differentiate video games from reality, the reality of nasty warfare to be precise. They'd shit themselves if it was them in that position.

  • That was flying... not like now with the mavericks and air to air shit... It was all about balls and aiming like a motherfucker

  • "Adapt and overcome"

The Japanese failed at that in a most grotesque manner....

  • I looked again and saw at 0:23 written with grease pencil the number 375

......I would guess then that my forensic video skills could use a little sharpening :(

Does anyone have the answer to what that writing is? I would hate to think it was just something arbitrary. Any WW2 aviation guru know the answer..........?

  • At 0:29 there is what looks like a possible recording of the date for this film footage.

Written with a grease pencil is what looks like 3 - 14

Any of you talented amateur historians able to corroborate March 14 to any particular air offensive?

  • @schizoidboy The Japanese did have fighter pilots, in some cases they escorted the Kamikaze's as well as destroying any targets that posed a threat to them.

  • @101andrewj An interesting point is that General LeMay had decided to remove most of the defensive armament from the B29s saving the tail guns. It might have sounded suicidal to some but it worked because the of what you said about the lack of fighters.

  • @Xiolablu3 What I do know is that they lost many of their capable pilots in the Battle of Midway and else where in the Pacific. I also know they were losing much of their merchant shipping from sub attacks. I also know they were desperate to stop the US naval fleet but they also had to deal with bombers and carrier borne planes as well, but they were not training them to handle the bombers. Now exactly where am I daft? Please explain...
