  • Fantastic death music. Sorrowful and full of grief, selfishness but at the same time transcendent and almost at one with everything. Bach was truly touched by divine powers.

  • Great music, great composers. Such an orchestration. The performance is also excellent. Love it.

  • This orchestration seems to be an interpretation that expresses *grief* and *sorrow*. It is beautiful, but, still, I prefer the original, light texture of Bach. I feel the original song's message is more about the *relief* by death.

  • speechless...

thank you, and the picture is a nice touch

  • Ruhe und Stille in mir ............

  • amazing

  • bach is touched by god, in million of years there are only a handfull of humans. mozart, da vinci, beethoven, michelangelo

  • That record must be quite old because Leopold Stokowski died in 1977. He was an american orchestral conductor of polish origin (hence his name :) I love this piece!

  • fuckin a hell yeah

  • Wer ist denn dieser Geist auf dem Bild?

  • Bach was truly a musical genius, and Leopold Stokowski helped bring out the true beauty of this composition through large orchestra, though the original written for organ is just as powerful. Memento mori.
