Underage Drinking Statistics

•Alcohol is the number one drug of choice among adolescence. It is the most commonly used and abuse drug among youth in the United States, more than tobacco and illicit drugs.
•The 2007 National Survey on Drug Use showed that more than 4.5 million United States household residents age 12 and up consumed alcohol for the first time.
•Teen Assessment Project (TAP)
oAccording to the 2005 Herkimer County Teen Assessment Project (TAP) fortythree percent of teens have had their first drink at or before age 12. Fifty percent of teens who use alcohol did so at lease a few times per month.
oJust under 50% of all teens in 2005 said they had tried alcohol.
oAbout 43% of all teens said that they had their first drink at age 12 or less.
•The 2006 Herkimer County Risk Assessment Profile states that in 2004, Herkimer County had the fourth highest DWI arrest rate for 16 to 20 year-olds.
•Of all the alcohol consumed in the United States, 11 percent was consumed by adolescents between the ages of 12 to 20.
•In 2006, about 10.8 million persons between the ages of 12 to 20 reported drinking alcohol in the past month. Approximately 7.2 million were binge drinkers, and 2.4 million were heavy drinkers.

I remember when I was a teenager, I was at a grad party on the beach. Alot of alcohol was consumed. The cops showed up and just started chatting with everyone. They were only concerned about people driving drunk.

choice my ass. i got a drinking ticket and didn't drip a drop of alcohol. might as well have been shit faced so that i could have thrown up on the cops.
