not sure what cliche that is, but you're entitled to your opinion. cliches become cliches for a reason, because they are drawn from life. check out the work of douglas sirk for an example of creative use of cliche,melodrama etc in cinema.

@prepschoolblues I think he is using the wrong word, but I think I see where he is comming from. Cause this (the script) was a little unfocused. If Larsen was upset of Jack having someone over - that should have played better out in the scene with him and his girlfriend. It also sounded like Jack had a relationship with Larsen, when Larsen and girlfriend were apart. But the only suggestion of this was the scene where Larsen told Jack he was back with her, and Jack threw something in frustration?
