The Duel (SD 2005) - A comically fast and furious battle, THE DUEL is an exciting short film full of vivid swordplay, perilous scrapes, and close shaves. Inspired by sword swinging greats like Errol Flynn and Douglas Fairbanks, the swashbuckling style of the Man In Black and the dual-wielding strength of the Man In Red aim to please any fan of entertaining combat choreography.

It could be.  ;-) There was no specific design in mind. We just modelled something that worked with the character design.

We made it using a 3D package called Animation:Master. We used cell shading features in the renderer to get the flat 2D look.

This is awesomeness! Great animation, storyline and fighting techniques! Good to see two characters trying to kill each other rather than clashing blades in a stupid looking fashion!
