Here's a little fun fact: O Fortuna, the backgroung music, was written by German Composer Carl Orff sometime in 1935-1936. Now only if I could remember what else was happening in 1936 that was German.

I seriously doubt the uproar over a mascot will have any further affect on whether Nicholls gets closed down or turned into a 2 yr. community college. Are you aware the current graduation rate for Nicholls is second lowest in the state? I think that will get more attention. Hey, I don't like it (I'm an alum) but it appears this problem has been going on far beyond the mascot debate.

I seriously doubt it....some of the hardest music to get approved, along with anything Disney and the music of John Williams.

The real NSU's, Northwestern State, orchestra and mass choir performed the entire work and was forced to remove the performance from youtube due to copyright laws. I am sure this will be stricken down soon as well.

I was also thinking how appropriate the music was. The only thing that would have been better would have been some Wagner.

Don't worry! While you are busy making a fuss over a cartoon Baton Rouge is planning to either close or turn Nicholls into a 2yr community college. So just keep throwing that gas on the fire when you should try to help keep some form decent education in this region.
