This is both my Apprentice and my own maiden RC flight. Things went great! I had a little hiccup on the final landing attempt, but nothing major was broken. I made the mistake of trying to fly over my head and let the plane slip out of my vision for a split second. Just enough to crash it. But alas, I epoxy'd the landing gear back together stronger than stock so it's all good!
Yes, I love the plane. I had never flown before and I got it right up in the air no problem, then I got a little too confident and ended up crashing. My second flight will be tomorrow night. I've been considering trying to belly land on grass but I'm nervous about the prop hitting the ground, have you had any problems?

@RichMazzola It has such a low stall speed so you can basically cut the throttle completely and just add a little up elevator and it'll touch down really, really nice. The prop shouldn't be spinning, maybe a little if it is windy. Also, if there is a little wind, it can almost just land vertically. If the prop does hit the ground it doesn't hurt it. I'm about to upload an awesome video where I chase a REAL EDGE 540 with my little ole' RC plane. Yes, it was epic.

Nice maiden flight! I just bought the Apprentice as my first plane a few weeks ago. I crashed a bit harder on my first flight though.

@RichMazzola They are really nice planes. I felt pretty comfortable with it after just a few flights. I actually took the landing gear off since it just basically fell apart every time I landed, even a soft landing. The grass is just too tall. Maybe when I fly on some pavement or something I'll put the gear back on, but it hand launches and belly lands great. I just put a new video up of some basic aerobatics!
