The whole point of fighting a war is to defeat an enemy's military. The country is then at your disposal, whether you wish to enslave, enlighten or absorb the population into your own.

Nuking a country renders the purpose of war obsolete. Akin to hacking your arm off to fix a broken finger.

Thirdly, nuclear weapons fuck up the Earth on a massive scale. Well done, you've vaporized the enemy...then what? You're left with thousands of square miles of irradiated ground, untouchable for thousands of years...there goes your children's planet!

The only benefit nuclear weapons bring is...er nothing. They cost squillions to make, and nobody with a sane mind would ever use them. Might as well set fire to your money.

For starters, ever heard of Mutually Assured Destruction? NOBODY wins in a nuclear war. All you do is set a precedent and give all your enemies the excuse to use them against you.

Secondly, nuclear weapons are the most indiscriminate weapon on the planet, save for nature's own arsenal. Ever thought of all the civilians who would be killed? Only morons think of war as numbers.
