@tpvalley Yep, can't dispute that... something I've never had but would like to, "just in case"! Current car actually DOES have an in-dash oil level meter (part of the trip comp, most pointless thing ever unless you top up a capful at a time, its entire range appears to be from 8/10ths to 9/10ths of the dipstick scale), and I've only ever set off an oil light/buzzer ("yikes, what's that?!") once before - cornering very hard with the level off the bottom of the stick. Not much of a safeguard!
yes, dont know why I thought it was oil level and not pressure, still main point is its better than an idiot light that flashes as your main bearings fail!
@tpvalley It's probably either oil temperature, or pressure, rather than fill level... which is a good thing as things can go wrong with the oil supply even if it's filled up properly.
I like the regular American Ford engine better myself but the Ranger sounds cool man. Have you ever thought of putting flowmasters or cherry bombs on it?
I haven't seen a truck like this where I live...today's Ford Ranger trucks still on the road always have gasoline engines of Ford's own manufacture. The extremely rare Diesel engines on the Ford Ranger come from Japan...Mazda, to be exact.

I like that, the oil level gauge rather than a light that tells u when ur engine is fucked!
