interesting that they don't just give the africans solar panels and inverters so they don't need to buy the crappy generators, it would seem the obvious option and best bang for the buck.

Also, "why isn't anyone doing this"? It's because they already have generator flashlights that don't need sunlight to charge their batteries.

Being Kenyan, this clip annoyed the hell out of me. Not the idea, but the reporting. Though i shouldn't expect so much from American media, they're coverage of African situation is always weak, its still gets to me. Truth is, this are isolated scenarios only experienced in a minority of African countries. Most African states have a sufficient electrical grid.
