  • my church has a hammond organ and i'm hoping that they will let me play it once it gets fixed. what are your favorite registrations on it?

  • @squidgetpj92 You know, when it comes to registrations...it really depends on one's mood and the genre of music being presented. I suggest playing around with the "shape" and "color" of the organ's tone based on registration manipulation. Also, check the web for gospel, jazz, blues, and even classical Hammond organ registrations. Many have published their findings, and these can be a good start for you. By the way, I, too, am learning. So, I am far from being an expert (LOL). Be blessed!

  • Beautiful musical blessing. I'm wondering how you feel about the CV in comparison with the C3 or B3?

    Sweet page here.

  • @Stevevinn Please forgive my late response. Praise God for the beauty you mentioned in reference to the music. As you know, B3/C3/A-100 models are essentially the same (different cabinets and A-100s have built-in speakers + reverb). CVs, however, lack percussion and tend to have a "thinner" vibrato than my A-100 for example. Also, CV's have a BIG bass sound that can overpower a song. I think the CV's bass is good for hymns and ballads. My only issue true with CVs is the rachet drawbars.

  • Just magnificent! I love to play this in the background while I say my prayers. Dottie Rambo was truly a gift from God, as was John Newton. Your organ playing is also a gift from God.

  • @MrHammondorganist Praise God! I am happy this selection blesses you.

  • I love the way you play, It is so good. Its like you making the organ sing. The other thing is that I can hear every single rank coming from the the drawbars. Again I love the way you play. You make the organ come alive without having to use so many jazz chords. The annoiting is on you.

  • very good!!! God unted you!!!

  • This is so powerful; the words and the tune. It is as if God orchestrated this bringing together of the old english bar tune and Dottie Rambo's lyrics. I happen to believe God did this! BTW, Dottie Rambo died about 1-2 years ago in a car accident making this and her other great songs (cherished by the Black Church) classics. God rest her soul beneath His altar with the other saints awaiting the Resurrection.

  • I love the Hammond organs, and Danny Boy is one of my favourite traditional tunes, so the two together are a beautiful thing. Great playing.
