I went in early...i started to feel the pain and see the swelling and redness within a few days. The antibiotics I was prescribed were in pill form, but not right for the strain of infection I had, this was changed twice. The third antibiotic was given to me the day of this event and it was a shot, but at that point I also had to go into the ER for IV antiobiotics. They cultured a sample from my elbow as well. The cellulitis had spread upward close to my shoulder.

the first time you went in you weren't experiencing pain anywhere else other then the elbow correct?
and due to the wrong prescription ab's the infecton was not being treated properly and it spread. that right? i'm trying to understand why these tests weren't done the first time you went in and how you were prescribed the wrong antibiotics... ab's are nothing to mess with,
whatever was in you will adapt to the ones given you and pretty much build an immunity to it. its a shame.

yup, no pain elsewhere. went into the ER cuz elbow hurt pretty badly. other doc didnt drain 1st time, but gave me 1st antiobiotic then marked me up with a sharpie, said if redness continued to spread to return. within 2 days it had spread past line, so I went into the ER, they changed my antiobiotic marked me up again, but still no draining. Then went in to see this doc who drained and kept me on same meds. this video is from two days after the first draining. at this pt i couldnt' bend my arm.

It didn't hurt that bad. There are worse wounds! Funny part was that in the beginning the doctor said, "ok, if you jump off the table here i'll use lidocaine on you" LOL!
