Just a mediocre slide show with audio of me playin' Luther Played the Boogie. I thought it would be kinda dumb to make Luther supply the music for his own tribute, so I went out and did it. The rhythm and lead was played on my new Fender '50s Esquire. And of course I sang. Not the best singin' or guitar playin', but I think Luther would've wanted it simple. RIP Luther M. Perkins.

  • lerb21, you should try to play that trucker tune "Staring At the World Through a Windshield" in the Perkin's style.

  • Lol, I'm much more of a Don Rich guy...

  • Like your version.... Check out my Cash stuff I posted under my name "Bob Worcester."

  • Real nice!

  • i still find it so sad that he died so young at 40.

  • Hey, Great video lerb21! I love playing along and synchronizing the sound of my guitar to yours through ought the song :)

  • You're a good guitarist, try not singing and just playing instrumentals like The Ventures. You ever heard Don Wilson of The Ventures sing a vocal song? I have and that's the reason The Ventures are an instrumental band!

  • Heh heh, too cool! Nice pickin' :))

  • fine job

  • AWESOME !

This short little GEM of a tail ........ Well done BRAVO !

Gaud Bless LUTHER PERKINS an GREAT American and a Musical HERO ..!

  • somebody asked Luther why he played so few notes when everybody else plays more, he said

    "the're looking for it,I found it"(paraphrased)

  • Great. Yes, Luther would want it kept simple. Since you're more of a Don Rich type, howsabout comin' out with Happy-Go Lucky Guitar. Really sounds good on a Fender.
