Hardsleeper Guangzhou-Kunming, China, restaurant cart etc.

Taking a walk thru the train, from restaurant cart to my own bunk. Trip takes about 25 hours... one must entertain oneself.

Thanks as well, I'll be on the night train from Nanning to Kunming on Feb. 3rd. Got the top bunk of a hard sleeper.

Oh top bunk, thats no good... bottom bunk is best, specially if it's triple bunks. If i may give you some advice: bring slippers and toilet paper (and if you're veg - bring food)! I've not been to nanning myself, whats it like? Oh and if you dont have reservations in kunming i highly recommend The Hump in the old city, dorm is 25yuan/night incl breakfast.

OMG, you're in for so much fun. Where are you heading after Kunming? You should know they don't change the sheets between passengers on this specific hardsleeper. But other than that it's great! I'm so jelous.

What is the scenery like? I imagine it would be spectacular, as you are travelling through southern Yunnan, which has some of the most beautiful landscapes in China. What was your experience of it?

I was on a train exactly like this one from Kunming to Dali. Only, we were only allowed to sit on the bottom bed. So we sat there with about 5 people per bed, furthermore there were 4 mothers with young children in our space.

But it was fun, seeing a baby pee "in" a trashcan right next to me is always a thrill.
