never seen a washtub bass played in a band that isn't playing bluegrass. pretty cool

The voices....my god.....perfect in unison then hit the three harmonies to blow the end of the line up into the stratosphere...

@medusa7ful, my cousin is like that we call him Blue..ha ha ...I remember people would say
ray so black he's blue and the name stuck..lol no offense to anyone here.

@gfine, nothing to do with race here, but you are right. black as a shadow..LOL

@gfine2000 I know your not, you just made me laugh cause he does look invisable. My Grandmother said she saw a black Catty parked across the street. She did not know anyone was in it until the car pulled off. She said, the "N" was so black I did not know anyone was in the car!"

The only thing about us late 60-70 hippiesis we got to see and feel all of the great ones its wonderful to get all music played

@SAMRAM29 Impressions did record it first. written by Curtis Mayfield.
When this was done, I was a 14 year old in York, PA. doing my best to sound as black as I could. Why shouldn't I: you have the Chamber Brothers, the Imperials, The Impressions, etc. etc. etc. Of my 20 favorite groups, I bet 15 were black. Great melodies, great messages, great feeling: I'd do almost anything for music to get back to all that that period offered us. Thanks for the post!!

What a shame that most of the young people of today don't understand what real music is........I believe that if this music was played as much today as the current "music" is that the world would be a much, much better place than it is today......
