River of Women/Rio de Mujeres is a chamber opera and part of the Aguas Ancestrales Trilogy. The plot centers on the desire of one woman, Paula, who dreams of escaping the life of the river. In the end the river and La Llorona take away both her dreams and the life of her only child. The video contains excerpts of its first presentation at San Francisco's Theater Artaud and directed by Josemaria Condemi. It has received three productions. The work is based on the life of my grandmother Paula.
