Sharp saw...check! Sharp gaffs...check! Rigging...check! Clean underwear...oops!! Our guys taking down a scary, dead ash on a 45 deg. slope, snapped and completely rotten at the base, and crotched into a maple about 1/4 its size. Two bull ropes to control its decent and 5 guys on the wraps. The last cut is made, the ash comes loose, climber gets tossed around a bit, but things are going well...until.........

  • Actually they did (almost) everything according to ANSI. The problem was that one of the ground guys made his wraps too loose and the uphill bull rope got away from him, therefore sending the tree into the secondary. Thank God it wasn't primary. They were able to stop it before it brought the whole line down, thankfully. But, yeah we had a nice long tailgate after that one...lol. Thanks

  • What the hell?!

    Im glad noone was hurt.

Stay safe...or start to be lol

    cheers
