in the end it all comes down to the old adage, it's how you use it. I love them both Gibson's Raunchy Heart Rippin' tone and Fender's Searing Crying. Of course if you're aiming budget, go fender. If you want (and can afford, cause let's be honest ;)) a gibson I don't see why not. If it were me, I'd get both; why be divided? I like apples and oranges, not one or the other.
