@Ruben1994OL Kano O sensei, Funokoshi Sensei and Mabuni Sensei collaborated very closely and traded many ideas. including the limitation of takedowns and throughs in japanese karatedo.

In our system, this is a Shodan kata. Along with Seienchin and Bassai (Passai) Dai :)

sound effects?????????

@littlepianist89 the original order, via Itosu, was nidan, sandan, shodan, yondan and godan. But the order doesn't matter. Each kata is a unique, self-contained group of techniques designed to deal with a specific situation or setting.

@cptchaos4567 just a side note, but Kano developed the belt system and it was picked up by Funakoshi when they shared the Kodokan in the 20s. Even then, it was only adopted by the shuri-te practitioners for quite some time. The naha-te guys got jealous (for lack of a better word) of the mainland success of the shuri guys and adopted them also. But otherwise totally agree with you.

muito masa este kata em base do gato adorei!
@r717 in "traditional" karate there were no belts.
The belt system was invented by Gichin Funakoshi when he exported karate to Japan for use in the public school system.
I've studied at many dojo and they all have variations on a color scheme. Generally speaking, they start you off at a white belt and you progress through the "kyu" rainbow to eventually earn a black belt.
Don't get too wrapped up in the color of your belt... they only help keep your gi closed.

@cptchaos4567 Nonono, the belt and gi was invented (of put to use in Martial Arts) by the founder of Judo Kano. Later it was adopted by Karatepractitioners, and if Funakoshi brought it to Karate, I don't know, but he didn't invent it.
Cheers.
