Debated issue of birth date of Chachatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

The much debated issue of birth date of Chachatrapati Shivaji Maharaj saw one more storm hovering. Pune-based history lover Prafullachandra Tawade claimed in a press conference that Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born on 1627 instead of 1630.To prove his claim,Tawade furbished an old document of Aphale family.
Reacting to the new claim Gajanan Mehendale, well-known scholar (and an authority on Shivaji Maharaj in his own right) and chief editor of Cultural Index of Mahabharata said that Shivabharat, a famous Sanskrit Granth , Jedeshakavali and four horoscopes recovered from Rajasthan are valid proofs to prove that Chchatraptis birth date was Falgun Vadya Trutiya 1551.
