A parody of the "I'm a Mac" ads in which Corel Paint Shop Pro explains to Photoshop how he can edit photos without having to study how-to guides for hours.

This was not a real advertisement. It was just an internal thing some Corel employees who worked on PSP did for fun.

  • Well, personally I prefer PSP because the learning curve in all Adobe programs is steep and their user interfaces feel really unintuitive. However, having upgraded from an EOS 20D to a 7D and routinely handling panoramas larger than 5000x15000, PSP isn't quite cutting it anymore. It is too sluggish and unstable. I can't even duplicate a layer in a 5000x15000 file without it starting to cry, while Gimp and Photoshop absolutely fly. And this is on a 3.6GHz quadcore...

  • looks like shit

  • @colinstu

the problem is the more you pirate the more you hurt the company and the program ends.and paintshop pro isnt that much expensive, but adobe photoshot is just like the apple macs from the painting world, overexpensive software, for what it does, you need to be rich to buy their software, really rich.

  • Phostoshop is surly really good (the best?)

I've worked with gimp before, and I have to say, if you have to decide between gimp and photoshop elements, gimp is better, because it have the same funktions + some nice spezial effekts.

  • @hellsmond Is there even CMYK by default in Gimp?

  • But how many use Gimp in the graphic design world? They all use Photoshop, they all want psd's! None of the companies I worked for use Gimp. Even if you save it as psd in Gimp, things like text layers will be gone....and some minor issues.

  • @hellsmond Lets forget about the closed vs open source discussion. Open source is good, but what a I as a user really want is good usability. The usability in Gimp isn't that great for me.

  • @montotosk What do you mean by "PSP doesnt support the basic standards in the industry"? What are those standards?

  • @chaukar that's bullshit , gimp is opensource (free).next to those 2 gimp is also newer to the market.gimp is by far a more innovative product and for starting artists that don't have to money available for PSP or even PS it is a must (let say you don't support pirates ;3).

  • You know, you know. . .I'm sorry, but I really like nerd chicks that look like Photoshop Girl in this video.

I think it's simply that they just don't have clue how sexy they actually are. . .and that always drives me nuts!
