Bartleby Project 2011: Do not take your state tests!

This is a call to all American students to write on your State Exams this school year: "I PREFER NOT TO TAKE YOUR TEST" ... and just sit there. No arguments. No violence. Just write that statement.

@ccsmotc That's just another threat the schools use. They use the prizes and food as "carrots" and threats of not getting a diploma, etc as the "stick". It's all a lie. You can't legally be forced to take these tests. But the schools don't want you to know that you can opt out. That's why they say stuff like that. How can they require that you take these tests for a diploma when absolutely NOBODY asks about them later in life? These tests are meaningless.

What is the down side of purely taking these tests? I understand the idea of being forced to do something you don't legally have to do has its problems, but I am curious about just the testing.
