@Georgia Until the monopoly of the three parties are abolished when people stop voting like sheep then there will be hope. All 3 parties support fees all 3 have lied to the public. Whatever you do DON'T vote Labour this party is the one that introduced fees in 97 then trippled them in 2001 when they promised not to. They also took away scholarship funds for smart poor children to go to private schools. They are the root of all what is wrong in Britain today, the other two are merely symptoms

He really is a slimey cunt. Just like most Labour MPs a filth lying hypocrite. I think he should run as a Labour candidate next election. After all many of the Fib dems are ex-Labourites like Shirley Williams (the assassin of state education)

I just hope by the time I go to uni that there is a new government that stick to their promises and lower fees at least a little (or abolish them completely). Students wont be voting for the two coward parties again.

Why did Nick Clegg cross the road? Because he said he wouldn't.

@geir44 Fantastic! So all I have to do is remain unemployed my whole life!? Why would I want any money??? Surely my money is better put to use in paying for public services! Oh, wait, they're being cut anyway :S

@1CaptainAustralia1 Did you pay for your degree? My guess would be no. If you did I would guess it cost you less than £30,000.
'We didn't win the election'
Neither did the Tories, outright. And yet it's only Conservative policies coming through, without even a feeble protest from him, somehow.

Every Lib Dem MP who votes in favour of raising the cap should repay the cost of their own taxpayer-funded university education. To keep it simple each MP should pay the proposed maximum fee-cap for each year that they were at university and gift the money to the university they attended. The only stipulation should be that the university must use the money as a bursary to fund the education of a student from a disadvantaged background. Oh, and a full and unqualified apology would also be nice.
