2012 Kawasaki ER-6n launch: MCN take a brief, behind the scenes, look at the new Kawasaki ER-6n on the world press launch in Portugal.

Having ridden the new ER-6n it's clear it has been improved in every area - both in its ease of use and excitement, its build and its style.

To add fun Kawasaki has played around with the tried and trusted 649cc parallel twin engine. It remains virtually the same but they've improved the fuelling, via a new ECU and changed the underslung exhaust. This results in improved acceleration and a greater spread of torque.

Styling-wise it's a complete makeover from front to back. Prices haven't been finalised yet, but it's expected to be about £5700, or about £50 more than the current model.

  • Power ranger bike

  • can u get this in america?

  • Looks good! Whos decision was it to make it look cool then NOT sell it in the u.s. and you fucking britts better give this bike a good review. We know how racist you are against japanese products you fucking wankers...

  • Wow, great video of the dash... and obligatory wheelies *yawn*.

  • I Have the 2009 model and I'm like WTF. I wish this was built in 2009! Nice sound and look, my bike sounds not better than just a motorboat :(

  • I would buy this.

  • i've been pressing 1:36 over and over again! such a cool bike.

  • The 650R looks better lol. (Before some douchebag says "THEY'RE DUH SAME THING DUUUUHHH" look at the headlights on the ER they look fugly as hell and make it look like a supermoto, not a sportbike).

  • @GODSSALERD Not everybody is shopping for a quarter-mile bike, mate. After smoking a few clowns at the green light a few times, it gets old.. fast. Riding is more than 0-60 times, and this bike can hold its own against some very expensive bikes in real world conditions and challenging roads, owing to its good balance and punchy torque. For what it is, it's very good. When I owned one I had no problems leaving the big bikes for dust in the twisties, sometimes I wish I didnt sell it!

  • Such a boring engine configuration. You'd be better off taking your £5,700 on the used market and buying a decent bike.
