Paulino Alcántara (màxim golejador de la història del Barça)

Paulino Alcántara (Iloilo, Filipines, 1896 -- Barcelona, 1964) és el màxim golejador de la història del club, amb 357 gols en 357 partits.

La seva característica figura, amb una enganyosa constitució feble i el mocador blanc penjant del pantaló, el va fer molt popular entre els afeccionats, fins al punt que se'l pot considerar la primera figura mediàtica de la història blaugrana i el crac que va posar les bases de l'edat d'or del FC Barcelona dels anys vint, amb Samitier, Zamora, Sagi, Piera i tants d'altres.

La fama del seu fortíssim xut va traspassar fronteres quan el 30 d'abril del 1922, al partit Espanya - França, va disparar tan durament a gol que la pilota va perforar la xarxa. Des de llavors se'l va conèixer com 'El Trencaxarxes', i durant molts anys els nens barcelonins, quan començaven a jugar al futbol, somiaven foradar la xarxa contrària com una vegada va fer aquell mític davanter filipí.

Va penjar les botes el 5 de juliol del 1927 per tal de dedicar-se a la seva professió de metge. Però no va ser un adéu definitiu al món del futbol, ja que va ser directiu barcelonista del 1931 a 1934. Alcántara té la particularitat de ser el primer futbolista del Barça que va escriure unes memòries, cosa que va fer el 1924 quan encara era jugador en actiu.

i'm proud to be a Filipino.:) imagine, Paulino being Barca's all time leading scorer, wow. i play football as a keeper, and it saddens me that Filipinos love basketball more than football.:(

tras paulino Alcántara q tiene (356) goles en (356 partidos), aún le superarían a lionel messi, Samitier (326), César (294), Kubala (243), Escolà (220) y Arocha (214).que no digan q le keda poco para rompero otro recor q es mentiraaaa,lla q todavia hay gente x delante de el.ahora mismo su posicion de los goleadores del barça en toda su historia es la 7.bueno un saludo a todos y aver si leeis mas la historia del barça jajajajajajajajajja.......

Although I am an American citizen in the Philippines, my parents are Filipino, and knowing that at least one Pinoy in the past played for the best team in the world, in my opinion. Even though I'm not a professional soccer (football) player, everyday I train myself when the time comes. If I can't play for the Azkals, at least for a football club here in the Philippines. Though it is reviving here, we can never forget that Filipinos have a root in football, due thanks for Paulino Alcantara.
