  • I'm sure he was a nice human being, but unfortunately as a last resort he was dragged into the Stooge's act. He was not funny, and often said he thought the material was beneath him and he didnt think what he was doing was funny either. He just made the Stooges so unbearable to watch. I said before that he should've blown his brains out. What I meant was he should have blown his brains out , but not before blowing the brains out of anyone who thought he was enjoyable.

  • joes is a decent third stooges. he's not no imitator of curly or shemp it's just those stupid remakes of older stooges shorts that made him appear that he sucked. but in some original material joe is actually very funny. he does his own comedic style. so I don't know why stooges fans bashed joe like this. at least besser makes me laugh than derita. DERITA SUCKS!

  • @jedibri81 wow so you encourage suicide and murder..how Godly and inhumane you are towards your own human race.....

  • Joe Besser guested on the Jack Benny show and was absolutely hysterical.

  • I loved the Joe episodes.

  • Keep in mind people, the scripts weren't funny by this time. And Curly Joe? These films were made for children.

  • @jedibri81, Your post is as pointless as a cat's fart, and not quite so entertaining. I am sure your sense of humor is more suited to a tomb, than understanding what is funny and what is not.

  • @Gwitfu90 Well, producer/director Jules white wanted Besser in the stooges because he needed someone who resembled Curly and that's why he was brought in to the act. But despite the fact that Besser was five foot five, fat and bald like Curly, I don't think they look anything alike.

  • @Stoogefan14 I hated Joe Besser not because he wasn't funny, but because he was selfish, ignorant, and only cared about himself. He refused to get hit in the face with pies when he knew he was joining the kings of pie fights. I'm sure Moe and Larry had a lot of people dying to be Shemp's replacement and were willing to do whatever it took to perform with them. Why did they pick this pussy?!
